Lupita D'Alessio
Fondly nicknamed "The Sleeping Lioness" after one of her songs, Lupita is well-known for her acting work on various Mexican telenovas throughout the Eighties and Nineties, where she also recorded the theme songs. Along with Panchita de la Barrio, she formed the vanguard of a new wave of Latina feminist pop, her songs are described as open, honest portraits of love's pitfalls which have struck a chord amongst the female populace.
