I enjoyed this production of CATS. Sometimes the mics weren’t on when they were supposed to be, sometimes they were on when they weren’t; I heard one “cat” exclaim how he “messed that up”. But overall the cast was good. The non lead cats were exceptional and really brought life to the piece. That being said, I must call out one lead “cat” for being unusually wooden and non expressive. That was Mister Mistoffelees. I have seen other performances and this version of that character was the opposite of “magical”. He pretty much went through the motions and looked at the floor throughout his routines. That being said, I enjoyed the night, the show was not broadway perfection (the moon was distractingly painted in the back as anything but a circle) , but definitely worth a look.
